Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I live farther away. Can I ship my flowers to you and have you ship the piece back once it is completed?
A: No. At this time I am not offering shipping for my completed art pieces. I am also not accepting flowers through mail. If you wish to book with me you must be able to drop off your bouquet and pick up in Paris, ON.
Q: How long does it take?
A: It varies depending on the time of year and if it is during peaks wedding season. It can take 1-4 months.
Q: Will my flowers change color after drying or casting them?
A: Yes there will be slight color changes with most flowers. Red or purple flowers tend to darken and white flowers will usually yellow slightly. Very thin and fragile flowers may become almost see through after resin is applied. If there is any bruising on the flower petals prior to casting they may become very thin in some areas once resin is applied. All flowers once delivered are handled with care and every effort is used to make sure that the final result is beautiful.
DISCLAIMER: Your flowers are organic material. Although every measure is taken to ensure the best possible results occur they will not look identical to your alive fresh flowers. These flowers undergo a drying process that can alter the colour of some flowers and the shape of them may also change slightly. If you flowers are already starting to brown/ wither this is how they will be preserved as I cannot turn back the clock. During the process of preserving them I am also using chemical compounds which can also alter the colour of some flowers once it is added. Therefore your dried flowers may look more vibrant compared to after the resin is added. If there is bruising on flower petals this will also show once the resin is added. Every flower is different and unique. Some dry and preserve more vibrant where as others may loose most of their colour. This is not something that I can fully predict but you must be prepared for these changes. All sales after payment is final.
Q: Will the resin start to yellow over time?
A: The resin that I use is very high quality and has a UV protectant to it. Therefore there will be very minimal yellowing of your piece overtime that may not even be noticeable to you. I would still recommend to try and keep your piece out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources for best results.
Q: How do I clean my piece?
A: Use a microfiber cloth or a feather duster. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals. Use water if needed.
Q: Can I hang my piece on the wall?
A: I would not suggest hanging the resin pieces on the wall. They are intended as stand alone art pieces to be displayed on top of furniture or shelving.
Q: Can you work with a bouquet that has already been dried?
A: Yes! If the flowers have been dried already naturally I can work with them as long as they are in good condition. You can always message me and send me a photograph of your bouquet if you are concerned. The final results will not be the same as having them professionally dried but this result will still be beautiful. The colours will brown and the shape of the flowers will change with air drying your bouquet at home.
Q: When should I book with you?
A: Please contact me the sooner the better! I get inquires about booking every day. Currently I am only accepting 3-6 bouquets per week. For the busy seasons from May-October I would suggest getting in touch with me AT LEAST 6 months in advance if you already know that you want your bouquet preserved. At the time of booking I do require a $50.00 non-refundable deposit in order to hold the date. If interest is shown in booking but no deposit has been paid this date may be booked by someone else as I have very little availability.
If you have any other questions do no hesitate to contact me!
